Paola Becomes a Euro-Mediterranean Hub for Social Innovation and Generative AI
Ahead of the International Social Hackathon Together for the Future and the public Final Event on 18–19 June 2026, Paola (Italy) was presented as a meeting point for young innovators, youth workers, experts and organisations from six countries across Europe and the Mediterranean. The media coverage highlighted the journey of Generative AI – Youth Sector Challenges and Impact, from research and international training in Tunisia and France to national hackathons and the development of AHAPP, an AI-powered mobile application addressing online hate speech and digital citizenship.
Particular attention was given to the 38 participants involved in the international hackathon and to the Italian team Digital Conscience, whose project SafeSpace AI explores the educational potential of artificial intelligence in tackling online hate speech. The article also emphasised the role of Caleidoscopio and the local community in connecting international innovation with youth participation, intercultural dialogue and social responsibility.
