SOCIAL HACKATHON – TOGETHER FOR FUTURE

Co-creating change across countries, communities and digital spaces

The Social Hackathon – “Together for Future” is a core activity of the project Generative AI – Youth Sector Challenges and Impact, conceived as a shared space where change makers come together to learn, collaborate and experiment.

The Social Hackathon unfolds across different levels. It begins with a series of National Social Hackathons, implemented in parallel across the six partner countries. In these national editions, young people, youth workers, educators and civil society actors work side by side to explore how Artificial Intelligence can be used in ethical and inclusive ways to address challenges such as hate speech, discrimination and digital exclusion. These parallel experiences are connected by a common methodology and a shared vision, allowing diverse perspectives to grow within the same framework.

As ideas take shape, the process naturally opens up beyond borders. Selected teams from the National Social Hackathons are invited to take part in the International Social Hackathon, hosted in Italy, where projects developed locally are brought together, exchanged and strengthened through dialogue with peers from different countries.

At the heart of the Social Hackathon is the ambition to empower change makers to actively shape digital culture. Through collaboration, mentoring and co-creation, participants are encouraged to question technology, reflect on its social impact and imagine solutions that place people, values and responsibility at the centre.

Different local contexts, one common journey. Across six partner countries, the National Social Hackathons evolve in parallel, contributing to a collective effort that culminates in a shared international experience.
